Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults succeed periods of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
