Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.
Officers state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then discovered numerous other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; authorities are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.
An important political figure stated the incident made him without words and required to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
